Well, Allen had his oral board interview yesterday, and I guess he didn't have what they were looking for. Generally, interviewing is one of his strong points, so we're a bit confused. (And most of his answers seemed good to me). Either way, I'm proud of Allen for working so hard to train for the PAT test. The only explanation we have is that it's not what Heavenly Father wants for us. I just wish I knew what it was that He wants us to do. It would be nice if He would just send a message in a bottle or something. ;)
So, it's back to trying to figure out where to go from here. We're not sure if that means continuing to pursue law enforcement, finding a job elsewhere, or going back to school. Wherever we end up, we are blessed to know that we have two wonderful boys, a roof over our heads, and that Allen still has his job (even if it isn't where he wants to stay forever).

Wow. I admire you for looking on the bright side, and knowing that even what we do... Its still hard to see God's path when its frustrating. Love you both (ok all 4 of you)!

I feel your pain, Angie. After 4 years of pursuing a PhD, Ben decided that it was not for him. Now it looked like there was a different profession that was going to work out, but now it is not looking so hot. Ben is also trying to figure out what to do with his life. Maybe we should get together and let the men figure this out together. :) Good luck to you guys!

I definetally can say that finding the will of the Lord is difficult at times. Hang in there. We love your family and are glad to have you in our ward.
Unbelievable! After doing so awesome on everything the SPD has the audacity to turn Allen away! What on earth are they looking for in a law enforcement officer??? talk about high standards. You sure are staying positive. Good for you and good luck deciding what to do next.
