I guess I should post about this.

I'm feeling a little more confident about it now, so I will post here that we are expecting and due January 31.  I am 9 weeks now.  This is my 7th pregnancy, and hopefully it results in our 3rd baby on Earth.  The last 3 ended up being either ectopic or miscarriage.  This time around we were able to see a "flicker" on an ultrasound at 6 weeks.  Since my miscarriages never grew past 6 weeks (even though my body held onto them for longer than that), I feel good about having seen a "flicker".  Hopefully that flicker was a heartbeat, and we will know for sure tomorrow.  I have been feeling pretty sick this pregnancy, and have even thrown up a few times (very rare for me, even when I'm sick).  So I am hoping that these are good signs and that we get good news at my ultrasound tomorrow.  It should be different having a Winter baby, instead of being hugely pregnant during the Summer.

I've taken up smoking.

NOT by choice, but because my neighbors and everyone around me have forced me to breathe their smoky air. Maybe I'm naive and have a low level of tolerance, but I cannot believe how RUDE people are around here. We can't go sit outside our front door because the neighbors' smoke is settling there on our patio. It's just ALWAYS there, and they come out about every 20-30 minutes to replenish it. I realize we're in the minority since we moved here--probably some of the few non-smokers there are. I just don't understand why people can't go smoke in PRIVATE somewhere. I understand that it's a personal choice, and many have chosen to take up the filthy habit. Ok, fine. Their life, their body. Smokers have the right to fill their lungs up with the nasty stuff, but they shouldn't have the right to fill MINE up with it. I hate that I can't even take the boys to the pool most days because there is always someone there filling the air with smoke. I can't wait until we can get someone to take over our lease! We are so out of here the minute we have a chance.

December 2009

We were grateful that the roads were good enough for us to drive to Washington over Christmas break. We got to stay with Stephanie and Jay in Vancouver for a night. We enjoyed touring Jay's school (in the dark). Stephanie also took some great pictures of our family. Then we headed up to my parents' for the rest of our Christmas break. We enjoyed spending time with my side of the family. We took a few family pictures with Stephanie's camera. It had been a while since we had all been together.

If I had let it go any longer...

...a year would have gone by without a blog post from me! My goodness, I can't believe I haven't written anything since October 2009. I'm sure my readers have all given up on me. (Sorry!) I guess it's time to play catch up.
