Today Mooch did a really cool thing.

He said family prayer all by himself. We asked him if he wanted to say the prayer. (Usually he says no, but a few times he has said yes and we would help him). So, tonight he said yes. Allen started helping him, but Hayden just went on and said the prayer all by himself. It went like this:

"Heavenly Father,
Thanks for this day,
Thanks for the food,
Thanks for Dad (we pray for Dad while he's at work),
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen."

We were just so proud of our little man. I got all choked up.

Another cool thing is that I think we're on our way to potty training. We've made some progress this week. Which includes (TMI) 2 "huge big poops" (as Mooch would say) in the toilet. I'm just lucky I caught him in time before he went in his diaper, otherwise it wouldn't have happened. And I have to bribe him with otterpops, or else he won't go anywhere near the toilet. Maybe there IS hope that he'll be out of diapers by the end of the year.

Memory

Here's a little game from my old roommate, Darcy.

Here are the directions:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

Sunday Night Entertainment

This was part of our entertainment last night. It was funny watching Allen play dolls with Moochismo. :) Some of you who know Allen might get a kick out of this...

Can you believe?

That this...

(this is now @ 9 1/2 months)

is the same kid as this?

(This was at 2 1/2 months!)

(This picture cracks me up. He's like a mini pirate Chris Farley!)

Toh-Toh had his 9 month check-up last week. He's back down to the 50th percentile for weight & height. I guess formula is having the opposite effect as it had on Hayden. Toh-Toh's a string bean compared to what Moochismo was at this age.
(Oh, and please excuse the mess in the first picture. It's a well played in room.)

Sugar Cookies

Moochy found all my cookie cutters. They were all gifts from my mom while I was in college. She used to send me packages for every holiday (including Valentine's Day & Halloween). I guess that's one of the benefits of being the first to go off to school. :)

Anyway, I decided it would be fun to make cookies with Mooch. We had so much fun. Moochy even helped put in the ingredients and mix the batter.

WALL-E

Today we took Moochy to the movies for the first time. We went to see Wall-E. I was dissapointed that I didn't bring the camera, so I don't have any pictures to share. We loved the movie, but Mooch wasn't too into it. We thought he would love it because he's always wanting to watch the trailers on our computers. He was excited at the very beginning, but that faded quickly. I'm not sure if it was that he was tired (no nap, not a good thing) or just that the movie wasn't action packed enough for him. He probably would have done better with a movie about talking animals in bright colors. He was so restless the entire time, and I felt bad for the people around us *trying* to enjoy the movie. I guess it will be a while before we take him to the theater again.

If you're bored...

I made a new fitness blog...

Mount Rainier

We went camping at Mount Rainier this weekend, and it was a lot of fun. Mooch, of course, had a blast exploring. You might notice that I have TONS of pictures of Toh-Toh and not many of Moochismo. This is because whenever Mooch would stand/sit still long enough for a picture he either had his fingers in his mouth ( =tired from running around), was scowling at me (running around + tired = grumpy), or was moving too fast for me to get a good picture.

We played Mafia around the fire.
It was a lot of fun until the neighbors yelled at us for being too loud.

July 4, 2008

I just thought I'd share some more pictures. Here are some from July 4. We went to my parents' house for a barbecue and some fireworks. Toh-Toh ooh'd and ahh'd at them, and Moochismo covered his ears through most of it.

Sorry for cutting off your hand, Courtney.

Couch-to-5K

I've been saying for a while now that I want to run a 5k and basically just get into running. I've never been much of a runner. I was always one of the ones in P.E. who ended up walking during most of our runs. Even when I was in the best shape of my life, I still couldn't run very well (maybe a 10 minute mile on the treadmill if I was lucky).

So, after going to Utah and gaining back 5 of the 20 pounds that I lost (Ugh!), I've decided to re-dedicate myself to my goal of losing more weight. I've been at a plateau (back & forth 2-4 lbs) for the past 3 months! I think my body just got used to what I was doing for exercise, and I need to change it up a bit. Now that the weather is (sort of) better here, I've decided to give the C25K running program another try. (http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml). I got about 4 weeks into the program back in early 2007, but then I got pregnant w/Toh-Toh and stopped. This time I'm determined to complete it.

So, today was day 1 of my training. It went pretty well. (Of course, we'll see how sore I am tomorrow). I even went in the rain, which I usually avoid doing, but I'm just that much more determined this time. :) I look forward to the day when I can run a consistent 30 minutes without stopping to walk.

A New Sister-in-Law!

Yay! The numbers are starting to even out a little. Last weekend my brother-in-law, Robert, got married to Courtney (not my sister, Courtney). Now the boys have two Aunt Courtneys--How confusing. I'm excited to have a new sister-in-law and can't wait to get to know her.

We had a lot of fun in Utah. It was so cool to see Mooch play with his cousins and uncles. He doesn't get to play with his cousins often since they're all in different states. I got a lot of pictures from the wedding day, but not many of the rest of the week. I'll have to borrow those from Shawn. :) We ended up going to a water park one of the days, and that was a lot of fun. Moochy had a blast. I wish I had pictures from that.

Courtney's dress was SO pretty!

The happy couple.

Here they are with all the cousins (plus 2 little girls from Courtney's side)

It was so hot that day! Poor Moochismo. His mom made him wear a suit.
He didn't let me take it off him when I asked him, though.

Ok, Allen may look mad here, but they're playing.
